And it was car related, because of course it was.
A friend of mine and I decided to check out this pottery place, considering we didn’t have school today, and it was a positively great time.
The premise to this shop is pretty simple: you go in, pick out some clay object, you paint it, pay for it, and then collect it the next week, after it had been put through the kiln.
My friend, Giulia, picked out an octopus, and I originally picked out a slice of bread for some reason. And then I saw it.
It was obviously modeled after one of the most recognizable vehicles of our generation: the Porsche 911.
I think this one was a 930, but the front, “bumper,” looked to be very 964-ish. The rear didn’t have the tail light bar that went all the way across the back, but just the small tail lights that are seen on early 911’s.
Either way, it was a 911, and I had to do it.
I picked out orange as the base color, with gray headlights, red tail lights, black for tires and trim, and blue for the windows. It took about and hour and a half to go from just a white base to orange-ish. After the shop applies the glaze to the vehicle, and place it in the kiln, the orange will really pop.
And not to boast, but I think I did a really good job, considering I had never done anything close to this before. I’m just really excited to see the completed product, which should be in my hands by Monday.
